COVID-19

Boston Pedorthic is defined by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an essential healthcare provider and continues to offer therapeutic goods, services, and care.


However, special precautions are necessary to ensure that the risk of transmission of COVID-19 is minimized.  These special precautions have been and are continually being informed and guided by the following regulatory entities:


  • World Health Organization (WHO)

  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration  (OSHA)

  • MassHealth

  • CMS Medicare

  • Office of Mayor Martin J. Walsh

  • Office of Governor Charlie Baker and Lt. Governor Karyn Polito

  • American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics

WHAT PATIENTS CAN EXPECT

  • Appointments are scheduled on a case-by-case basis

    • Acute-care is prioritized

    • Social distancing is maximized

      • Fewer patients are being scheduled each day

      • Seating arrangements are set up 6 feet apart

  • Protective measures are considered

    • Hand sanitizers and tissues are made available for patient use

    • Surfaces are disinfected with EPA-approved products between every patient visit

    • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and glasses are used by each practitioner

  • In accordance with the guidelines offered by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you will receive a phone call prior to your appointment, in which you will be asked screening questions in regards to your exposure to COVID-19​​

PATIENT RESPONSIBILITY

  • Please answer the screening questions honestly, in order to preserve public health

  • Please cancel and reschedule your appointment if:

    • You feel unwell

    • You have been exposed to someone exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19

    • You have been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed or presumptively diagnosed with COVID-19.

  • ​Please wear a mask to your appointment.  According to a  May 6,2020 order from Gov. Baker, masks or face coverings are required in all public places, indoors or outdoors.

PLEASE CONSIDER

  • Please arrive to your appointment alone 

    • If you need to be accompanied by a translator, caregiver, or advocate, kindly limit your party to only one other person
